One of Australia’s largest and most iconic stadiums, serving as the home of major sporting leagues and hosting a range of entertainment events, required a comprehensive and reliable communications infrastructure to manage operations effectively. The site includes the stadium and its surrounding complex, requiring seamless connectivity across all areas.
Challenge
The stadium faced significant challenges with its outdated radio system, which had reached the end of its lifecycle. This legacy system, paired with an insufficient Distributed Antenna System (DAS), resulted in poor coverage in critical areas. The communications limitations hindered operational efficiency, team coordination, and overall safety management, requiring an immediate upgrade to a reliable, modern solution.
Solution
A tailored communications upgrade was designed and implemented to modernise the stadium’s system. The solution included:
- Capacity Plus Single Site Radio System with TRBOnet applications for voice logging, indoor positioning, and radio dispatching.
- Equipment Supplied: Motorola R7 and DP3000e series portable radios.
- Expanded DAS Coverage: The DAS was extended to the administrative offices and basement parking areas, ensuring comprehensive signal reach throughout the precinct.
